Faced with the crisis of confidence, the FFF is tempering.

The future of Bleues coach Corinne Deacon will be decided "in a very short time", within "eight or fifteen days", after hearings conducted by a commission of the Executive Committee of the French Football Federation (FFF), announced , Tuesday, February 28, its interim president, Philippe Diallo.

"I wanted (...) that a group of members of the 'Comex' could audition (the stakeholders) and make a certain number of recommendations in a very short time to best prepare for the World Cup" in Australia and in New Zealand (July 20-August 20), explained Philippe Diallo.

Three executive players, including captain Wendie Renard, have announced their withdrawal from the French women's team in recent days, in a gesture of defiance towards the coach.

Laura Georges, Aline Rieira, Jean-Michel Aulas and Marc Keller, members of the "Comex", were thus commissioned by Philippe Diallo, "to draw up an assessment of the current situation and draw up a list of recommendations and decisions to be taken very quickly. in order to restore a situation conducive to performance", explains the FFF in a press release.

"The FFF reaffirms that no individuality can be placed above the institution. It regrets the form of these complaints but will give the necessary attention to the substance to find a positive solution, always in the interests of the team of France," the body added.

"We are not in the republic of players"

A little earlier, the president of the Mediterranean League and member of the "Comex", Éric Borghini, had mentioned the date of March 9 for the submission of the conclusions of this commission.

"We have in France some of the best players in the world. French women's football lacks a major title," assured Philippe Diallo.

"We allow ourselves a few days to analyze well, to make decisions", added Marc Keller, the president of Strasbourg, member of this special commission.

The president of the Men's League (LFP), Vincent Labrune, for his part defended the coach.

"From the outside, I rather have the impression that Corinne Deacon is a woman of integrity, a fair, hardworking woman, who has a lot of merit", assured the leader.

"I hear the messages from a number of players. We are not in the republic of players but we hear the messages."

Five months before the World Cup in Oceania, the French women's team is going through the biggest crisis in its history with the withdrawal of its three main players, supported by several partners and the stars of the discipline around the world.

In covert words and without ever mentioning Deacon by name, the players pinpoint his management, sometimes considered authoritarian and far from high-level standards.

In the event of dismissal, several names have come up in discussions and in the press in recent days, most of them already in office: Sonia Bompastor (Olympique Lyonnais), Gérard Prêcheur (Paris SG), Sandrine Soubeyrand (Paris FC), Patrice Lair ( Bordeaux) or even the former deputy Éric Blahic, a hypothesis put forward by the sports daily L'Équipe.
