After being knocked out in the goal line, she gathered herself in the warming tent and absorbed energy.

And could count a silver with a smile.

- It was kind of cold today and all the blood seemed to have just gone to the legs, there was nothing left to warm the hands.

I froze and was very tired when I crossed the finish line but have recovered now, says Karlsson.

- I am very happy with how I set up the race and got the most out of it, says Karlsson, who had a better feeling than during the skiathlon last Saturday.

That Diggins won is seen as good for the sport.

- Of course it's good for the sport, even if I would have liked it myself too, says Karlsson.

Favorite Andersson happy with the bronze

Ebba Andersson was the favorite in the race.

Even though it wasn't enough for gold, she was happy to get another medal.

- I didn't have much energy left and took out everything I had and am satisfied that it was enough for a bronze.

There are two that go faster and I make a stable run.

I managed it and am satisfied with the effort, says Andersson, who felt that the recovery after the skiathlon last Saturday went well.

But it was tougher than expected today.

- I didn't get anything for free and had to pick up every little bit of power and it sucked the must out of me in the end.

The legs were really worn out.

Diggins was in a class of his own today, says Andersson, who will now recharge for Thursday's relay over 4x5 km, where probably only Karlsson and Andersson can feel completely committed.

There, she wants to go for a distance of two or three.

"Diggins had another gear"

- It was a tight fight well into the race, then Diggins had another gear and it was a fight with Frida for the silver medal.

I took it stroke by stroke, hill by hill.

"Get to the finish as fast as possible" I thought, it was so brutal out there.

She grants Diggins the victory.

- It was well deserved with Diggins and she has shown good form.

Not surprising by any means.

She destroys the Swedish winning streak, but we take two medals and it still feels good in my stomach, Andersson says.
