New York Rangers Mika Zibanejad came off the ice late in the second period after blocking a shot from Los Angeles' Drew Doughty on the power play.

However, the Swede was back at the beginning of the third period and was largely involved in the Rangers' 5–2 victory against the Los Angeles Kings.

Vincent Trocheck, who scored two goals for the Rangers in the second period, one with an assist from Mika Zibanejad, said after the game that it was important for the Swede to get back on the ice.

- It was really a relief when he came back into the third.

Matt Roy netted for Los Angeles

After the second period, the Rangers had scored three goals and Los Angeles one through Swedish Viktor Arvidsson on the power play.

Early in the third, Los Angeles continued its rally with a goal by Matt Roy in the second minute.

But less than a minute later, New York began to take a firmer grip on the game, extending their lead to 4-2 through Artemi Panarin.

31 goals by Zibanejad this winter

Mika Zibanejad, who quickly recovered from the knock in the second, then made it 5-2 with a power play goal just over five minutes into the third period.

Zibanejad now has 31 goals and 33 assists this season.
