Kazu, Tomoyoshi Miura, who was a former member of the Japanese national soccer team and transferred to a team in the second division of Portugal, celebrated his 56th birthday on the 26th and expressed his determination, "I want to do my best to be on the pitch for as long as possible."

Last season, Miura, who scored two goals in the JFL Suzuka Point Getters and broke the JFL's oldest scorer record, has been transferred to the Portuguese second division league's Oliveirense this season.

Miura celebrated his 56th birthday on the 26th, and he smiled when team officials and others celebrated him with a bouquet and a large cake.

And at an online press conference, Miura, who appeared in a green suit and a red and white striped shirt in the image of the Portuguese flag, said, "I haven't changed much. I feel like I can do it," he said frankly.

Although he hasn't had a chance to play yet after the transfer, Miura said, "Every time I have a birthday, I feel like I'm going to stand on the pitch. It's a very tough battle, but after joining the bench, I can stay on the pitch for as long as one minute. I want to do my best to stand up, and I want to play in a way that contributes to the win.”

Regarding the atmosphere of the new team, he said, "I'm glad I came. The team accepts me and treats me kindly, so I want to respond by playing. Every day is fun after a month, and I'm happy to be here. I'm happy for you," he said.
