The Osaka Marathon will be held on the 26th, which will be the representative selection race for the Paris Olympics next year, and the right to participate in the MGC = Marathon Grand Championship.

Since last year, when the Osaka Marathon was merged with the Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon, which has been held as a representative selection race for the Olympics, it has become a tournament in which top domestic male athletes participate.

This year's competition, where the right to participate in the MGC, will be contested for 42.195 kilometers around Osaka's famous spots such as Midosuji and Tsutenkaku, and Yuma Hattori, a representative of the Tokyo Olympics, is scheduled to participate.

There are also expectations for the emergence of new star candidates, as 23-year-old Gaku Hoshi won last year's race, setting the highest record for a Japanese marathon debutant.

On the other hand, due to the influence of the new coronavirus, the general runner section, which was not held four years ago at the end, will also be held, and about 30,000 runners will run the same course as the top runners.

NHK will broadcast the top men's race starting at 9:15 a.m. on General TV and Radio Daiichi, as well as on NHK Plus.
