South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns snatched a difficult 2-2 draw from its Egyptian host Al-Ahly, in the third round of Group Two competitions in the African Champions League.

Sun Downs advanced through Peter Chaloeli (33), before Mohamed Abdel Moneim equalized for Al-Ahly (59).

In the 74th minute, Hussein Al-Shahat scored the second goal for Al-Ahly, before the guests equalized again through Thabelo Morena (80).

Sun Downs raised its score to 7 points at the top of the group, while Al-Ahly scored its first point in the tournament after losing to the Sudanese Al-Hilal in the last round to occupy third place, and Cameroonian cotton bottomed the standings without a balance of points.

The Sudanese Crescent ranks second in the group standings, with 6 points.

In the fourth group, Tunisian Esperance strengthened its lead in the group, after its victory over its Egyptian guest, Zamalek, with two unanswered goals scored by Muhammad Ali Bin Hamouda (35) and Muhammad Ali Bin Ramadan in the second minute of stoppage time.

Al-Taraji raised its score to 9 points at the top of the group standings, 5 points behind Al-Merikh Al-Sudanese in second place.

On the other hand, Zamalek's balance froze at one point in last place.

In the third group, Moroccan Raja Casablanca consolidated its lead in the group, after defeating the Guinean team Houria with two unanswered goals scored by Hamza Khaba (43) and Naoufel Al Zerhouni (89).

Raja raised its score to 9 points at the top of the group, by 5 points from Houria, who finished in second place, and the Tanzanian Simba team ranks third with 3 points, while the Ugandan Vipers bottom of the group standings with one point.

In the first group, the Congolese Vita Club defeated its Algerian guest, JS Kabylie, with a clean goal scored by Manas Mbdi (65).

Vita Club scored its first 3 points in the group, ranking fourth, noting that it played only two matches after postponing its confrontation with Moroccan Wydad Casablanca, who finished third with 3 points in the first round, due to the latter’s participation in the Club World Cup.

On the other hand, JS Kabylie still leads the group with 4 points, with a goal difference from Angolan Petro Atletico.
