There was no doubt who was the main character of the match.

Pettersson was constantly in the center of the action, and was responsible for no less than 17 shots on goal, ten of which (the most so far in Pettersson's nearly five-year NHL career) were on goal.

- I've never had ten shots before.

It felt good and I'm glad the puck went in, says Pettersson according to the Vancouver Sun.

But it wasn't far from Vancouver leaving the game without a point.

The 2-2 tie first came with 29 seconds left to play, after Andrej Kuzmenko poked in a rebound after a shot from Pettersson.

And then Pettersson made it 3-2 himself, after he dribbled the puck from his own zone and then flicked the puck in with a shot from the left drawing circle.

- I had a little ice to work on and just tried to get as much speed as possible, says Pettersson, who gets a lot of praise from coach Rick Tocchet:

- That kid has a world-class shot, and that was a real gem.

He is a fantastic player.
