The Bourges basketball players won their qualification for the quarter-finals of the Euroleague thanks to their victory (75-66) on the floor of the Polish Polkowice, Wednesday during the 13th day of the Euroleague.

The Tangos, triple winners of the Euroleague (1997, 1998, 2001), continue their European journey.

By dominating the Polish team from Polkowice (66-75) on its floor, Bourges Basket struck a blow.

The Tango will play the quarter-finals of the Euroleague.

The Berruyères mastered this decisive encounter from start to finish and are assured, one day from the end of the group stage, of finishing among the top four in Pool A, ahead of their evening opponents.

They can continue to believe in a participation in the Final Four, which the club wishes to organize in the spring, in Bourges, 20 years after the last edition having taken place in the Cher.

Led by Sarah Michel, untenable at the start of the game with 13 points at the break, the Tangos quickly took control of the game (27-20, 13th).

They rocked with a ten-point lead at halftime and then widened the gap, inflicting a 9-0 on the Poles to conclude the third quarter (66-47).

The start of the last quarter was to the advantage of Polkowice, down to eight small points, but the French defense was able to be solid at the end of the match, like Laëtitia Guapo and her six interceptions (11 points).

The hard work of Yvonne Anderson (14 pts, eight rebounds) and important shots from Alix Duchet, including an award-winning basket that pushed the Poles to 13 points (73-60, 38th), made it possible to hold the shock until in the end, despite 20 points from Slovenian back Zala Friskovec.

The Tangos, triple winners of the Euroleague (1997, 1998, 2001), continue their European journey, one year after winning the Eurocup.

On the 14th and final day, they will host the Turkish side of Fenerbahçe, guaranteed to come out on top of Pool A.
