Sweden broke a new medal record at the WC in German Oberhof when the team won eleven medals.

The success resulted not only in a whole bunch of medals, but also in large prize money.

Together, the team has brought in nearly three million kroner.

Biggest jingle in the coffers for Öberg

The medal record is a smashing of the previous record of six medals from the WC in Pokljuka 2021. The team together took three gold, three silver and five bronze.

The biggest bang for the buck was for WC queen Hanna Öberg, who won four medals, two of which were gold.

This results in prize money of SEK 897,000.

- It's absolutely fantastic, a smashing of the previous record.

We must also remember that Elvira Öberg, our biggest star before the WC, did not win an individual medal, says SVT Sports expert Helena Ekholm.

Samuelsson second on the list

Sebastian Samuelsson became Silver-Sebbe with the entire Swedish people when he broke through in the 2018 Olympics by taking silver in the pursuit start.

During the last day of the WC, he fired hard and won the mass start ahead of Martin Ponsilouma and Johannes Thingnes Bö.

In doing so, he took his first individual championship gold.

Samuelsson won a total of four medals during the championship and collected prize money to the value of SEK 682,000.

Third on the list is Linn Persson, who came to the WC without an individual championship medal.

The championship was a success for the Swede, who now leaves Oberhof with two individual medals and bronze in the relay.

This means that Persson receives a cash supplement of SEK 517,000.
