- It feels good.

Two booms made it on the hair.

But with good skis there was nothing stopping me.

It was a wonderful feeling.

I took 20 seconds on each lap and with three jumps it's one jump, with five jumps it's 1.40, says Thingnes Bö to SVT Sport.

He was 1.46.4 ahead of the Swiss Finello in the track.

Thingnes Bö won with 1.10.7 and with hindsight could have afforded one more barrier.

Caught up with the Olympic champion

For the last shot, Thingnes Bö felt the pressure to shoot full and he loaded and shot a quick burst in 21 seconds.

A couple of minutes before, French Olympic champion Quentin Fillon Maillet had the chance to challenge for the gold but missed his final shot in the sparkling sunshine from Oberhof which offered good conditions but heavy muddy tracks.

- The plan was to go all in, says Thingnes about the tactics on the rampart.

At the end, Thingnes Bö caught up and from Fillion Maillet, Thingnes Bö was challenged by compatriot Sturla Holm Lägreid before the final shootout.

The Norwegian missed his shot – instead of going out in the lead by 23 seconds, he went out 37 seconds behind.

After all, if Läreid had shot full, he would have lost to Thingnes Bö by just over ten seconds.
