It has been a lot of trouble for Norwegian biathlon star Marte Olsbu Röiseland this season.

Last autumn, the 32-year-old suffered from shingles, which meant that she could not make her season debut until January.

Despite that, she was in contention for a medal in the opening WC sprint, five seconds behind bronze medalist Linn Persson, and in the subsequent pursuit start she managed to move up to third place.

But it seems that the opening races have picked up steam.

On Tuesday morning, the Norwegian Biathlon Union announced that Röiseland will not start in tomorrow's distance race.

The decision was made after they made an evaluation of her total load during the championship together.
