Dutchman Cody Gakpo scored in all three group stage matches during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

After the tournament, he left his PSV Eindhoven for Liverpool, a deal which, according to recognized transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, cost the English big club around SEK 470 million.

Derby tonight

But the start of his Liverpool career has not been easy for the 23-year-old.

Ahead of tonight's derby match against Everton, Gakpo was recorded for zero goals and zero assists in his six games.

But tonight he finally got to celebrate a Liverpool goal.

Just over three minutes into the second half, he received a pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Gakpo was free at the left post and just had to put his foot there to make it 2-0 for his Liverpool.

2–0 (Mohamed Salah had already scored 1–0) was also the final score.

It was Liverpool's first win in the Premier League since the team won 2–1 against Leicester on 30 December.
