When commenting on Mbappe's performance, FIFA's official website wrote:

Although Mbappe just turned 24 last December, his stellar performance at the Qatar World Cup has irrefutably cemented his reputation as an all-time World Cup great.

Following Russia's World Cup triumph, Mbappe once again showed what he can do in Qatar.

In the end, Mbappe won the World Cup Golden Boot with 8 goals and became the first player to perform a hat-trick in the World Cup final in nearly half a century.

In adversity, Mbappe almost single-handedly pulled the lagging French team back into the game, and his performance will be recorded in history.

Although the French team failed to defend their title in the end, Mbappe deserved applause.

Furthermore, Mbappe has been surprisingly efficient in club competition.

He played 46 times for Paris Saint-Germain last season, scoring 39 goals and 26 assists, helping the team win the Ligue 1 championship.
