Exceptional guest of "Europe 1 Sport", the president of Red Star FC Patrice Haddad is at the origin of the new project of the football club.

With the American 777 Partners, new American owner, the strong man of the legendary club founded in 1897 intends to return to the heights of French football.

The Red Star thinks big.

An exceptional guest on the Europe 1 Sport program (every evening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.), the president of the historic club Patrice Haddad spoke about the ambitions of the first team.

Recently bought by American Josh Wander at the head of 777 Partners, the Saint-Ouen club is now aiming for a return to Ligue 1 in the coming years.

After long years of struggle and arm wrestling with the League but also with the town hall of the City of Seine Saint-Denis where its Bauer stadium is located, Red Star FC can now move forward in a more serene way.

Relocation, missing infrastructure, the Reds and Greens have come up against major difficulties for several seasons.

"When you get a club that has no infrastructure, it's very difficult to talk about sporting projections," said Patrice Haddad indignantly in Europe 1 Sport.

When it rose to Ligue 2 in 2016, Red Star was relocated and played in Beauvais for its home matches, in particular for infrastructure and security approval reasons.

New club project

But these difficulties are now a thing of the past for the Parisian suburban club.

And the Red Star presents new ambitions with the arrival of the American investor 777 Partners in May 2022. "I sold because it was necessary and because I prepared for the next fifteen years", justified Patrice Haddad.

And this sale is, still according to the president of the club, the symbol of a renewal: "When I bring in the Americans, it is because we are going to have a new Bauer stadium with 10,000 seats, that we have a center of training and that we can claim today, if we put the means, to think of Ligue 1".

The Red Star now has a project to renovate its Bauer stadium in Saint-Ouen with a view to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. "The club will be at the heart of the Olympic reactor in 2024. Its training center is at Marville, so it's at the heart of the Olympics and its stadium will also be an Olympic stadium", certified Patrice Haddad.

And the latter intends to include his supporters in this adventure.

Historically communist, the club wants to maintain this identity defended by its most loyal fans.

For Patrice Haddad, "it is a source of pride to have such a strong and visible organ of supporters" on which the Red Star can continue to rely.
