Sweden has been asked to host the Olympics

Stockholm hosted the 1912 Olympics and also hosted the equestrian event in 1956 due to strict quarantine rules in the host country Australia.

But it has not been more than that for Sweden, despite several applications.

At a press conference, arranged by the Swedish Olympic Committee, the Swedish Sports Confederation and the Swedish Paralympic Committee, it is expected to be announced that Sweden has been asked to host the Olympics.

It is the International Olympic Committee that should have asked the question.

The latest Olympic application was for 2026

According to Dagens Nyheter, it is about the 2030 Olympics.

The last time Sweden applied for the Olympics was the Winter Games in 2026. In the end it was between Milan-Cortina and Stockholm/Åre and after a vote the Italians won.
