On Tuesday, it was announced that Bayern Munich is selling Hanna Glas to the Kansas City Current.

Kansas City has been trying to sign Glas since last summer, but it took a few months of negotiations before the clubs could come to an agreement.

The right-back was on an expiring contract with Bayern Munich, who now choose to release her.

"I am very happy to come to one of the best clubs in the world and I have been keen on this move ever since I heard about their interest," says Glas, who at the same time adds that she had a very good time in Germany.

The move is implemented immediately and Glas will thus become a teammate with, among others, Mimmi Larsson.

Recently, Kansas City also introduced Caroline Sjöblom, former head coach of AIK and the captain of the U19 national team, as a new assistant coach.

The debut will have to wait

However, the debut in the American top club will have to wait for Glas.

The 29-year-old had knee surgery in September and it is still uncertain whether she will be ready to play in time for this summer's WC in Australia and New Zealand.

- It's a bit like a roller coaster and I've certainly had experience of that before, but overall it's gone very well and smoothly, now I feel like I'm getting stronger all the time and the training is getting harder.

So I hope I'm not too far away from a football pitch, she says to TV4's Fotbollskanalen.

Kansas City will be Glas' third foreign club since the move from Swedish women's club Eskilstuna in the fall of 2017. Before Bayern Munich, she also played two seasons in French Paris Saint-Germain.
