From February 6 to 19, the resorts of Courchevel and Méribel are preparing to welcome many enthusiasts for the Alpine Skiing World Championships.

For the 47th edition of the championship, the French are warming up despite poor results this season.

Yesterday evening was held the opening ceremony and promises great performances!

Despite the cold and the snowflakes, the stands are full at the start of the championship.

Last night, in Courchevel for the opening ceremony, alpine ski enthusiasts were on hand to kick off their favorite sporting competition.

Wrapped up in her anorak, mittens in her hands and a hat on her head, Marie-Claude, a local on the stage, relishes the event which is already a great success: "The 3 valleys are already a fabulous area, but what we lacked was a real international competition that we didn't have. We were told that here it's a bit bling-bling... There now, it's a big sports resort!" .
