Pitcher Takuichi Sawamura, who played for the Red Sox of the major leagues until last season and will return to Lotte this season, joined the camp from the 5th and adjusted by playing catch while interacting with the players.

The 34-year-old pitcher Sawamura, who played mainly as a middleman for the Red Sox of the major leagues until last season, returned to his old club Lotte last month after becoming a free contract.

On the 5th, the final day of the first course, he joined a camp in Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture, and practiced in the same group as pitcher Aki Sasaki.

After sweating with dashes, Sawamura played catch against Manabu Mima, who played together at Lotte in the 2020 season, while checking the feel of a professional baseball ball.

Manager Yoshii Rihito has high hopes for pitcher Sawamura, saying, "I want him to take care of young players while passing on his experience in the major leagues."

On the 5th, he was training from 6:30 am before team practice, and pitcher Sawamura said, "I can use my time effectively by training in the morning, so I want to continue. I'm used to the ball. I think it will take a little more time, but I want to keep my feet firmly on the ground and practice.”
