After several years far from the title, Arsenal are now in the fight for the league gold in the 2022/2023 season.

But in Saturday's away game against Everton there was an unexpected and unusual bump in the score line.

Arsenal had not lost in the Premier League since 4 September (against Manchester United) and Everton became the first team to beat Arsenal after 13 consecutive games without defeat.

James Tarkowski became Everton's hero with the game's only goal after an hour of play.

Arsenal's loss means the team's margin down to second-placed Manchester City shrinks to five points after 20 rounds.

For Everton, the win was necessary as the team, who recently sacked manager Frank Lampard, were second to last in the table heading into the game.
