Before the race, most of the talk was about the fact that there were two medals to fight for behind the expected winner Norway, who fielded as many as three individual world champions in their team.

But there were more people who wanted to have a say in the team.

Sweden among others, which was in second place after half the race after Louise Lindström finished her stretch well and Gustav Kvarnbrink was responsible for a fantastically fine second stretch.

- We know he is strong but this was sensational, says SVT's commentator Niklas Nord after Kvarnbrink gained over half a minute on the superior Norwegian winner from the mass start, Jonas Vika.

- It is terribly impressive.

I am at a loss for words, says national team coach Mattias Nilsson to SVT Sport.

On the third stretch, Moa Hansson continued on the beaten path.

After a successful effort, she alternated in the lead together with Switzerland, Italy and Germany.

- When it comes to the most, then Moa Hansson is at her best.

It looked dark for her for a while, but she managed to find her way back into the race and tie the bag together, says SVT's expert Anders Blomquist.

In the final stretch, Truls Gisselman did really well and as the race approached he found himself in a sprint duel with France, which he unfortunately lost after being forced to take a longer turn into the final straight.

- A fantastic effort by the Swedish team, every skater has surpassed himself, says SVT's expert Anders Blomquist.

The Swedish coach Mattias Nilsson was of course happy and satisfied with his followers.

- Everyone makes incredible distances based on their conditions.

I am incredibly happy and positively surprised, says Nilsson to SVT Sport.
