The Executive Office of the National Olympic Committee approved the formation of the Olympic Players Committee, whose objectives are to consider issues related to athletes, provide advice to the National Olympic Committee, and engage in initiatives and projects that protect and support athletes on and off the field of play.

The committee includes Yousef Mirza, Muhammad al-Nakhi, Faisal al-Ketbi, Saif bin Fetais, Ali Khasif, Hawra al-Ajmi, and Fahima Falaknaz.

Among the objectives of the committee is also to represent the rights and interests of athletes, to make relevant recommendations, and to maintain contact with the Athletes Committee of the International Olympic Committee.

The Executive Office approved naming Eng. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi as head of the executive team for the eighth edition of the National Sports Day initiative, provided that the team coordinates, prepares and promotes the activities of the event, which will start on the second of next March.
