Fredi Bobic has resigned from his position as a member of the supervisory board of the German Football League (DFL) after retiring as sporting director of Hertha BSC.
The DFL announced this on Thursday.
At the same time, the 51-year-old is leaving the supervisory board of the DFL subsidiary Sportcast and the "Football Commission".
“The supervisory board regrets that Fredi Bobic is leaving the board.
We would like to thank him for his commitment and the trusting cooperation in the spirit of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2,” said the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Hans-Joachim Watzke.
Hertha parted ways with Bobic after the 2-0 defeat in the derby against Union Berlin last Saturday.
The former national player had only been in office for a year and a half and fought with the Berliners exclusively against relegation.
The DFL General Assembly will decide on the successor on the DFL Supervisory Board in March.
