Emil Forsberg answered for a fine performance in the round of 16 against Hoffenheim.

In the ninth minute, he cushioned the ball via his chest, stepped into the lane and pulled away with a well-placed left-footed shot into the near corner.

The goal meant 1–0 for Leipzig.

Konrad Laimer, who assisted Forsberg's goal, extended the home team's lead to 2–0 just before the break.

With a quarter of an hour to play, Dane Kasper Dolberg headed in the equalizer for Hoffenheim who connected - but Timo Werner sealed the game with his 3-1 shot ten minutes from time.
