Barcelona achieved its fourth consecutive victory in the Spanish Football League, by defeating Real Betis 2-1 in a postponed match, to consolidate its lead in La Liga, on Wednesday.

Barcelona strengthened its lead in the championship, after raising its tally to 50 points from 19 matches, eight points ahead of Real Madrid, who played 18 matches, and hosts Valencia today, Thursday, in a postponed match as well.

Real Betis froze at 31 points from 19 matches, in sixth place.

Brazilian Rafinha put Barcelona ahead with a goal in the 65th minute when he followed a cross pass from Alejandro Balde to easily put the ball into the net from close range.

Polish Robert Lewandowski increased the score ten minutes before the end of normal time when he followed a header from Ronald Araujo, after a corner kick, and fired a powerful shot into the goal from close range.

But Frenchman Jules Conde, Barcelona player, accidentally scored an own goal in the 85th minute, when he was trying to deflect a cross from Youssef Sabali, to reduce the difference for the landlords.

Betis's William Carvalho was shown a red card after the final whistle for protesting the referee.
