Spanish newspapers revealed that Barcelona is seeking in the last hours of the winter mercato - which ends at night - to include Moroccan star Sofiane Amrabat from Italian Fiorentina in a deal described by "Marca" as a "bomb" in the winter mercato.

Marca describes that Amrabat, a fan of the Catalan team, wants to move to Barca, and the latter will ask the Italian club to borrow him until the end of the season, with the contract including a mandatory purchase clause, and this offer will be presented today to the player who presented exceptional levels in the Qatar World Cup and contributed to the "Atlas Lions" occupying fourth place in the world Cup.

According to the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", the contract with Amrabat - whose contract with Fiorentina extends until 2024 - will be costly for Barca, and for this reason he prefers the system of borrowing and then negotiations over the value of his annexation deal.

And the newspaper continues that Barcelona does not intend to enter the winter mercato, despite the injury of Othmane Dembele (6 weeks away from the team), the transfer of Memphis Depay to Atletico Madrid, the retirement of Pique, and the imminent transfer of Hector Bellerin to Sporting, but the only player who can force Barca to return to the transfer market is Amrabat. .

Amrabat (26 years old) is considered one of the best midfielders in the world and was among the ideal squad for the Qatar World Cup and was pursued by more than one European club to sign him at the forefront of these teams, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.

The player himself confirmed - in a previous interview with Marca - that as a child he was watching and admiring the style of Xavi Hernandez, the current Barca coach.

Amrabat, who was not a permanent fixture with his Italian team, participated mainly and was not substituted in his country's seven matches in the World Cup in Qatar.

Amrabat was born in Hoizen, the Netherlands, and moved to the Italian League in the summer of 2019 to play with Hellas Verona, and in January 2020 he signed with Fiorentina for 18 million euros, but the player stayed in Verona on loan until June 2020.

The Moroccan international started his football career with Belgian Utrecht and played for him 3 seasons, then moved to Feyenoord Rotterdam and played one season, after which he joined the Belgian club Brugge.
