Renowned for his incredible dribbling, 36-time international and OGC Nice legend, former French footballer Charly Loubet died Monday evening at the age of 77, we learned from the club on Tuesday.

The right ally has played 343 games and scored 93 goals with the red and black jersey, which makes him the third player to have worn the Nice colors most often in competition.

After AS Cannes, Charly Loubet played for a season at Stade Français before joining OGC Nice in 1963. He stayed there until 1975, with a break of two seasons, between 1969 and 1971, at Olympique of Marseille with whom he won a title of champion of France.

He finally finished his career in Cannes before becoming a coach.

“A lively and twirling player with that famous left foot hook that characterized him so much, he was one of those former players who maintain the legend, carried by the love of this beautiful red and white jersey in all circumstances, and who contributed to the prize list of the club, ”reacted the LR mayor of Cannes David Lisnard.


A tribute will be paid to him during the next home game of OGC Nice, against Ajaccio, on February 10 at the Allianz Riviera, said the Nice club.
