Thobias Montler, with both EC and WC indoor silver on his track record, showed that he is in fine form this indoor season as well.

He won the race clear ahead of the Italian Mattia Furlani and showed impressive consistency.

Montler had a total of three jumps over 8.10 meters and the longest, which came in the fifth round, measured 8.19 meters.

- I had a good feeling right from the start.

So it was fun.

It was this form message that they wanted to take with them, says Montler.

8.19 is barely two centimeters shorter than Montler's personal best indoors of 8.38.

It is also a Swedish record and the cross-country star set it when he won World Cup silver in Belgrade in March last year.

Second behind Montler was Murlani and third came the Spaniard Jaime Guerra.

Montler is currently second in the world.
