Tilda Johansson continues to impress in biathlon European Championships.

In today's mixed relay, the 23-year-old stood for yet another strong effort.

When she switched to Stina Nilsson, she did so with a twelve-second margin down to runner-up Norway.

Then the accident happened.

Johansson and Nilsson managed to hook each other and it resulted in a broken rod for the latter.

However, they were quick-witted and Stina had Tilda's staff in her possession relatively immediately.

- She gives the baton to Stina, it was nicely resolved, but what drama, says SVT's commentator Lotta Fahlberg.

- It was not a good change.

The problem is that they have different kinds of rods.

I hope that Stina gets a new staff soon, says SVT's expert Elisabeth Högberg.

Despite the confusion, Nilsson went well on track and even though she missed one shot per shoot, Sweden was very much in the gold fight when Nilsson switched over to Malte Stefansson, just over 20 seconds from the lead.

However, the golden hope was extinguished a little when both Germany and Norway shot full in the horizontal while Stefansson was forced to an extra shot and it would get worse when Stefansson was close to a penalty round after he missed two of his three extra shots in the standing.

He still shifted in third, 47 seconds from leading Norway, 35 from second place Germany and with Switzerland close behind.

Anton Ivarsson kept pace with the Swiss Serafin Wiestner at first, but on the shooting range it was worse.

Ivarsson missed two shots in the prone shooting and was forced to chase to fix a bronze place.

Just in time for the final shot, Ivarsson had caught up with the 14 seconds that separated the first shot and then he shot like he had never done anything else.

The shooting series was both fast and accurate and it stressed Wiestner so much that he started spreading his shots and was forced into a penalty round.

This allowed Ivarsson to finish in third place.

47 seconds behind winner Norway and 22 seconds behind runner-up Germany.
