Shinji Kagawa, a former member of the Japanese national team who has participated in two World Cup soccer tournaments and has been active in strong clubs in Germany and England, will return to J1's Cerezo Osaka for the first time in 12 and a half years. I understand.

Kagawa is 33 years old from Hyogo Prefecture.

A midfielder who excels in scoring ability as well as dribbling to dodge opponents with delicate ball touches, he has scored 31 goals in 97 games for the Japan national team. Participated in two tournaments in Russia.

After playing for Cerezo for four years from 2006, Kagawa moved overseas and played an important role in European powerhouses such as Dortmund in the German first division and Manchester United in the English Premier League.

He has belonged to Sint-Truiden in the Belgian First Division League since January last year, but his playing opportunities have been limited due to injuries and other factors.

Under these circumstances, we learned from interviews with people involved that Kagawa will return to his old club Cerezo for the first time in 12 and a half years.

A meeting is scheduled for February.

Kagawa continued to interact with Cerezo even while playing overseas, such as participating in Cerezo's off-season training.
