Krister Kristensson is a legend in Malmö.

He debuted for the club in 1963 and celebrated great success with several SM gold and cup titles.

With his 626 matches in the MFF shirt, he is the one who has represented the club the most times.

Kristensson was also noted for 38 A international matches and was part of the Malmö FF edition that was awarded the Bragdguldet in 1979.

Kristensson suffered during his last years from several illnesses.

He had heart problems and had to amputate half of his right leg after an infection.

- There has been so much crap in recent years.

The heart could have collapsed while I was out cycling, I found that out from the doctor later.

Then there is this thing with the leg, he told Sydsvenskan in an interview in July 2022.

He was also diagnosed with prostate cancer.

- And then I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

I'm on chemotherapy now, second round.

I'm not afraid of dying, but I really hope that everything works out.

Kristensson was a board member of Malmö FF between 1995 and 2010.
