French club Olympique de Marseille announced today, Saturday, its contract with Moroccan international star Azzedine Onahi, who starred with the “Atlas Lions” in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Marseille won the deal to include Onahi, who contributed to the Moroccan national team reaching the golden square of the World Cup Qatar 2022, for the first time in its history, after a fierce battle with several European clubs that wanted to include it.

The 22-year-old Onahi contributed to leading his country to become the first African team to reach the golden square in the World Cup, after overthrowing Spain and Portugal before losing at the hands of France.

Onahi leaves Angers to join Marseille in a deal valued at about 10 million euros (10 million and 900 thousand dollars), after the Italian Napoli, Leicester City and Leeds United of England showed interest in his inclusion.
