The President of Ukraine noted that he had repeatedly discussed with the head of the IOC Thomas Bach the problem of admitting athletes from Russia to international competitions.

On January 25, the IOC urged sports federations to consider allowing Russians to compete in a neutral status.

Earlier, the European Olympic Committees supported the IOC statement on the rules for the admission of Russian athletes.
