22-year-old William Poromaa finished second, and was 17.9 seconds behind first place Harald Östberg Amundsen.
In the end, Poromaa had to settle for a third place in the 10 kilometer freestyle, after the Norwegian Sjur Röthe made it to the finish line.
The podium was Poromaa's first of the season in the World Cup.
