It was in the middle of the second period in HV71's home match against Leksand that Nichlas Torp poked opponent Marcus Karlberg's head with a tackle.

- Karlberg copes well and continued to play, but it will be unnecessary.

He aims the elbow straight at Karlberg's head.

The judges must have been a bit misplaced.

They will probably look at it and there could possibly be a suspension.

I think it is unnecessary to send the elbow up to the head, said SVT's expert Håkan Loob in Hockey evening.

On Friday morning, the SHL's situation room reported Torp's measures to the Disciplinary Committee and now the verdict has come.

The 33-year-old is sentenced to a three-game suspension and fined SEK 8,750.

"Karlberg stops the puck with his right skate when Torp comes with speed and with an upward movement puts his left shoulder in the head of Karlberg, who cannot defend himself," writes the Disciplinary Committee in its verdict.
