Both Rybakina and Sabalenka are in the singles final of the Australian Open, the first grand slam tournament of the tennis year, for the first time.

Thursday began with Jelena Rybakina winning her semifinal against Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in straight sets, 7–6, 6–3.

- I am very happy and proud.

It's a fantastic setting, so it feels great to be in the final and get to play one more match here, says Rybakina in the victory interview in Discovery+.

Aryna Sabalenka – who won the doubles title in Melbourne in 2021 – then followed suit and repeated the feat in her match against unseeded Polish Magda Linette (7–6, 6–2).

- I am super happy.

She (Linette) is a fantastic player and played amazing tennis.

I am so happy.

The atmosphere here is absolutely fantastic, says Sabalenka after her victory.
