The Italian Hannes Zingerle came to the absolute last gate of the track by mistake and drove into it quite hard with his hip, lost his balance and fell helplessly towards the finish line.
In the fall, he hit the inflatable goalpost and lost one of his skis at the same time.

Despite the fall, Zingerle took over the lead by 15 hundredths.
