Scandals are mounting in

the sports federations in France

.

If two weeks ago the president of the French Football Federation, Noël Le Graët, was removed from office after an investigation for sexual harassment within the organization, now those who are being investigated are the president of the French handball league (LNH), Bruno Martini, for corruption of minors, and that of the Rugby Federation, Bernard Laporte, for tax fraud.

Three presidents of three federations with open investigations.

In the case of Martini, French justice is investigating the former world champion

after a complaint by a 13-year-old teenager

, who accuses the 52-year-old athlete of proposing a meeting through a social network, to which he did not attend,

after having exchanged images of a sexual nature

on this network.

The double world champion must appear before the judge today.

The crimes of which he is accused are corruption of minors and recording images of child pornography.

According to the French press, the athlete would have acknowledged the facts to the investigators, assuring that he thought the teenager was 15 years old, and not 13.

The judge will propose that you admit guilt, which would reduce your sentence.

The athlete, who retired in 2007 and has been president of the league since last November,

was the goalkeeper of the national team

when it was proclaimed world handball champion in 1995 and 2001.

third scandal

Added to this case is another: that of

Bernard Laporte

, president of the national rugby federation (FFR), Bernard Laporte, who was arrested on Monday on suspicion

of money laundering from aggravated tax fraud

.

This case is different from another for which he was already sentenced in December to two years in prison, with a suspended sentence, for corruption.

Laporte is a central figure in French rugby, a widely followed sport in the country.

He was a former coach and also

Secretary of State for Sports between 2007 and 2009

, with President Nicolas Sarkozy.

It is the third case of scandal in a few weeks in the leadership of French sport.

His counterpart in the soccer federation, Noël Le Graet, is under investigation for moral and sexual harassment.

Two weeks ago he made

some controversial statements about Zinedine Zidane

, in which he said that he would not have picked up the phone if the former Real Madrid coach had called him to run as coach.

The uproar caused by his derogatory words partly accelerated

the sexual harassment investigation

.

The French Sports Minister called her for consultations and that same day a former FFF worker recounted on French television the harassment she had suffered from Le Graët.

The next day, the federation suspended him from office.

All these scandals tarnish the image of France,

which is holding the Olympic Games in Paris next year.
