The Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arada, Prince Khaled bin Al-Waleed bin Talal, confirmed that hosting the world championships “Street 2022” (29th of this month to 5th of February) and “Park 2022” (from 5th to 12th of February) will be held at Aljada Skating Field. He continued, "Aljada Skateboarding has received wide positive reviews from local skaters, including the best skaters in the world, during the last weeks before the World Championships, which will start on the 29th of this month."
Prince Khaled bin Al-Waleed bin Talal said: “Aljada Square is the largest skateboarding arena in the Middle East, as well as having an innovative and exceptional design. Sections of streets and parks of Olympic standards.
He added, "These fields, in turn, include an integrated set of elements inspired by some of the most famous ski fields in the world, from the United States to Australia, including the Ariake Urban Park in Tokyo, where the last Olympic Games were held."
He stressed that the organization of these two tournaments will enhance Sharjah's position as a new regional center for this sport, which is spreading rapidly.
It is noteworthy that the two global events are being held for the first time in Sharjah at the level of the Middle East, and the participants must obtain classification points to qualify, by participating in a limited number of tournaments, which makes the Sharjah competitions a vital station on the road to qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
