Before McAvoy's 2–0 goal, Hampus Lindholm had also sent in a small solo goal of his own.

- If I could do that every match, I would have done it, he says after the match.

In the third period, Swedish Linus Ullmark, who otherwise kept a clean sheet, was in the center.

Suddenly he lost one skate rail, and had to play without it until the game was called off.

He was then helped off the ice by his teammates.

- I'm just glad they didn't shoot, it's so much easier when you stand up, says Ullmark after the match.

- It has not happened before.

It was strange, I had no idea what to do.

I didn't know the rules either.

The match ended 4–0 to Boston.

The victory marked Boston's 37th win in 46 games.

They have been this year's successful team so far in the NHL, and have scored by far the most points with just over half the season played.
