SVT's expert Björn Ferry about the troops:
- These are the expected squads and I had selected the same team.
Stina Nilsson is poached from the WC, but to be honest, Tilda Johansson has been closer.
She is the one who has achieved results all winter, but for her there is a long-term plan with the IBU Cup and the EC this season.
Why is Stina Nilsson nobbed?
- The skiing form has not been at the same level as last year when she was in the top ten several times and on the podium in one race.
But it's not like she needs to throw in the towel and go back to long because of this, she could still be a definite part of the next Olympic team.
The shooting curve points in the right direction and she takes steps.
The potential is there.
Now she gets to compete at the EC, which also maintains a high level.
There are good courses and the level is like a world cup competition where the very best are not included.
She is not thrown out into the cold and sent home to Malung to live with her parents and lie on some bog and shoot.
The EC is a great sparring situation and a good step in the development towards a longer-term goal.
It doesn't matter that she doesn't go to the WC.
What do you think of the men's side?
- There are four given names in the WC squad, the question was who would be the fifth.
It is reasonable with Emil Nykvist who made several good results.
Malte Stefansson was another option, he has also done some good races, but I feel like I would have made the same choice.
