The All Japan Short Track Skating Championships began in Nagano Prefecture on the 21st, and last year's Beijing Olympics representative, Junrei Kikuchi, won the women's 500 meters and 1500 meters, achieving two crowns.

The tournament, which opened in Minamimaki Village, Nagano Prefecture, was held on the 21st, with 500m and 1500m races for both men and women.

Of these, Kikuchi, who finished 8th in this event at last year's Beijing Games, participated in the women's 1500m final, which competes for the order of finish in 13 and a half laps of a 110m-long rink.

In the seven-man race, Kikuchi was in 3rd place in the early stages, but in the final stages he increased his speed and took the lead in the remaining half lap, finishing with a time of 2:20.535 and winning the race.

In the women's 500m final, which took place three and a half hours later, Kikuchi made it out of the start and won the championship with a time of 44.061, not once giving up the lead for four and a half laps, achieving the double crown of the tournament.

Kikuchi said, "I used a lot of power on each skate. I was able to achieve two crowns, but I'm disappointed because the 500m final didn't feel right. I want to win the 1000m tomorrow as well." I was determined for the crown.

On the other hand, in the men's 500 meters, Katsunori Koike, who represented the Beijing Games, won with a time of 41.483 seconds, and Dan Iwasa won the 1,500 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 15.482 seconds.

On the 22nd, the last day of the tournament, both the men's and women's 1000 meters will be held.
