There was only one individual podium in the World Cup for the Swedish men in biathlon before today's sprint in the Italian Antholz.

But today Martin Ponsiluoma broke the gloomy streak and showed good form before the World Cup.

It certainly looked a bit difficult initially when he missed once in the first and lying shot.

But in standing, Ponsiluoma was brilliant and shot full - and really fast.

- That was mumma.

The best thing that could happen to him, says shooting coach Jean-Marc Chabloz in SVT's broadcast.

“Fantastic skis”

His performance was enough for second place.

- I am incredibly satisfied and had fantastic skis.

It felt really nice to have such a good race, says Martin Ponsiluoma to SVT Sport.

But it was not possible to upset the superior Norwegian Johannes Thingnes Bö, who won 31.4 seconds ahead of the Swede.

- It was a perfect race.

The secret?

I am in very good shape, says the Norwegian to SVT Sport.
