The 2023 Australian Open edition began on January 16 with 128 players and 128 players entered in the draws for this first Grand Slam of the year.

In total, 76.5 million Australian dollars (nearly 50 million euros) have been allocated for the overall prize money of the ATP tournament.

But the earnings for the participants vary according to their backgrounds in the competition.

Thus, the winners (in singles) will win this year 1.911 million euros.

Note that the “prize money” is the same for men and women.

The finalists will receive 1.044 million euros.

Nearly 69,000 euros for a first round

The winnings are then decreasing: 594,107 euros for the semi-finalists, 356,625 euros for the quarter-finalists and 217,251 euros for the eighth-finalists.

Players eliminated in the third round of the Australian Open will walk away with 146,391 euros.

A second round can pocket 158,850 euros and a first round 68,242 euros.

Players who have gone through the qualifications will also be entitled to their envelope: around 36,000 euros for the third qualifying round, 24,000 euros for the second round and 17,000 euros for the first.



The first Grand Slam tournament of the year, the Australian Open takes place until January 29 in Melbourne.

Last year, Rafael Nadal won the trophy against Russian Daniil Medvedev in the men's category.
