Stina Nilsson has struggled with her form for pretty much the entire season.

Just over a week ago, she was kicked from the World Cup squad that competed in Rupholding and was instead forced to run the IBU Cup in Pokljuka, where a modest placing (35th) in the distance race was followed up with two top ten placings in Saturday's and Sunday's sprint races.

The question is whether it was enough for the 29-year-old to convince the national team management that she should get the chance in the World Cup squad that will be selected on Monday.

SVT's expert Björn Ferry does not think so.

- The management has said that everything is open and that they weigh in both the latest and the historical results, but it is clear that it feels like they have to do a lot for Stina to get the chance in the WC, says Ferry.

"It's more logical"

Elvira Öberg has been ill this week and it is still not completely certain that she will start tomorrow's sprint in Antholz.

But she has trained today and is on the starting list.

If she starts, Stina Nilsson is forced to watch from the sidelines and from there it is difficult to break into the WC squad.

- There will probably be a little focus on Mona Brorsson.

She hasn't performed that well either, but if she does a decent race tomorrow it feels pretty clear, says Ferry and continues:

- It's very much leaning towards Mona, it's more logical, she has more experience from the WC and has been in relays before, and she also did well when she got the chance in the mixed relay during the World Cup competitions in Pokljuka ten days ago.

Stina's WC place feels sealed unless something unforeseen happens.

What could it be then?

- That Mona Brorsson shoots three hurdles and finishes in 98th place tomorrow.
