Eddie Jones, the former head coach of the Japan national rugby team, who led the England national team until December last year, will be appointed as the head coach of the Australian national team.

The Australian Rugby Union announced on the 16th that it had sacked head coach Dave Rennie and signed a new contract with Jones.

The term is a long-term contract until the World Cup to be held in Australia in 2027.

Originally from Australia, Jones was the head coach of the Japan national team at the 2015 World Cup, leading the team to a historic win against South Africa.

After that, he became the head coach of England and won the second place in the 2019 World Cup held in Japan, but his recent results have not been good, and it will be about 9 months until the World Cup, which will start in France in September. In December last year, he was dismissed.

Jones was Australia's head coach from 2001 to 2005, and this is his second appointment.

"I am very honored to be able to return to my home country and lead the national team," Jones said. I'm sure," he commented.
