China News Agency, Beijing, January 15th. The 2023 Malaysian Badminton Open ended the finals of five events on the 15th.

The Chinese team entered the finals in men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. In the end, the mixed doubles and women's doubles won gold medals, and the men's doubles won silver medals.

The Malaysian Badminton Open is the first high-level event on the World Badminton Tournament in 2023, and the Chinese team sent its main players to participate.

The men's singles event still exposed shortcomings, and no one broke into the quarterfinals.

In women's singles, Tokyo Olympic champion Chen Yufei lost to South Korea's An Seying in the semi-finals and stopped in the semi-finals. Another powerful player, He Bingjiao, lost 0:2 to Indonesia's Mariska in the first round.

The national feather ace combination Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong won the mixed doubles championship in Bangkok, Thailand last year, and returned to the first place in the world ranking.

They continued their good form in this competition and easily defeated their opponents all the way to reach the final.

In the final, they defeated the Japanese combination Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino at 21:19 and 21:11 to win the championship.

This is the fourth consecutive mixed doubles championship of the "IELTS combination" Malaysia Badminton Open, and it is also the 20 consecutive victories of the two across seasons.

In the women's doubles, the Chinese team Zhang Shuxian/Zheng Yu regretted losing to the South Korean team Baek Ha Na/Lee You Lin in the semi-finals, and failed to meet their teammates Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan in the final.

In the final, the world's No. 1 "Mortal Combination" did not give their opponents too many chances, and easily defeated the Korean combination at 21:16 and 21:10 to win the championship.

The 17th-ranked Chinese men's doubles pair Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang made it to the finals several times in this competition. This is also the first time they have entered the finals of a Super 1000 event.

Regrettably, the two failed to continue their dark horse status in the final, losing 1:2 to the famous Indonesian combination Alfian/Adianto and winning the runner-up.

In the men's singles, the famous Danish player and Tokyo Olympic champion Axelsen easily defeated Japanese player Naraoka Kodai with 21:6 and 21:15 to win the championship.

In the women's singles final, Japan's Akane Yamaguchi defeated Korea's Ahn Se-young with 12:21, 21:19, and 21:11 to win the championship.
