Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Association, announced today, Sunday, that Kuwait will host the next edition of the competition (Gulf 26) in December 2024.

Sheikh Hamad, President of the Qatar Football Association, told reporters on the sidelines of the "Gulf 25" in Basra, Iraq, that choosing the date for the tournament was to avoid conflicts with the Asian Cup.

Qatar won the right to host the next edition of the Asian Cup after China apologized for reasons related to combating the Corona virus, but it has not yet been determined whether it will be held in the middle of this year or the beginning of next year.

Abdullah Al-Shaheen, head of the Kuwaiti Federation, confirmed the provision of the "government guarantee" to host the tournament, and said, "The State of Kuwait is ready for this event, God willing, on its date in December 2024."

Al-Shaheen indicated that Kuwait's preparations to host the event will start next week with a meeting of the Football Federation to form the organizing committee.

And it was decided to establish "Gulf 27" in the Sultanate of Oman, in Muscat.
