FIFA announced the list of goals nominated for the Puskas Award for the best goal of 2022, as the list included two goals from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which the Argentine national team crowned last December.

The list also included 3 goals for female soccer players, who are Olympic Lyon player Amandini Henry with her goal against Barcelona, Salma Baralelo, player of Spanish club Villarreal, in addition to attacking the English national team, Alicia Russo, with her goal against Sweden.
