Eric Bailly will not play against Lorient this weekend in Ligue 1. The OM defender, expelled last week in the Coupe de France against Hyères, is suspended as a precaution, AFP learned from sources with knowledge of the case.

Bailly was sent off after a quarter of an hour against fans from Hyères (N2) after a gross foul on Var midfielder Almike Moussa N'Diaye, whom he hit with his foot in the chest.

Evacuated on a stretcher, N'Diaye had to be hospitalized and briefly went through the intensive care unit of the Hôpital Nord de Marseille.

OM won 2-0.

The Ivorian defender of OM served an automatic suspension match during OM's victory on Wednesday at Troyes (2-0).

He is currently suspended as a precaution and will therefore not be able to play on Saturday against Lorient.

The Disciplinary Committee of the French Football Federation, which manages the Coupe de France, could take a final decision on his case at its next meeting, scheduled for Thursday.
