At all competitions, she was surrounded by foreigners, because she was one of the few who loved and could maintain relations with them.

We condole and mourn together with Leyla's family and friends," RIA Novosti was told in RFPV.

In turn, the head of the Federation, Stanislav Druzhinin, admitted that the news of Salamova's death shocked him.

And the first vice-president Dmitry Sautin said that the athlete had grandiose plans.

“She was a fearless girl, unique in Russia.

For everyone, she was an example, they were drawn to her.

She had incredible willpower, which allowed her to jump into the water from 20 meters, and not just one jump, but to put together a program of four world-class jumps.

She was able to compete with the strongest jumpers in the world in high diving.

And now it’s impossible to say who else we can reach this level, ”Match TV quotes Sautin.

The winner of the 2006 world championship Artyom Silchenko also spoke about the athlete.

“Leila was young, beautiful, unusually energetic and cheerful.

Now it’s hard for everyone, it’s very difficult to say something.

It is clear that these words are not enough to describe such a bright and talented girl, ”Silchenko said RT.

Indeed, in less than five years, Salyamova managed to write her name in the history of Russian high diving.

In 2021, she first won a gold medal at the Russian Championships, and then became the first domestic representative of this sport to participate in competitions under the auspices of the International Swimming Federation (FINA).

In Abu Dhabi, she finished 18th and qualified for the World Championships in Fukuoka, but due to the postponement of the tournament, she never made her debut.

It is noteworthy that by this time Salyamova had been performing in high diving for a little over a year.

From the age of eight to 18, she was engaged in diving and even became the winner of the national championship in tandem with Anastasia Kozlova, but due to a number of circumstances, she decided to end her career.

The break lasted three years, during which Leila managed to work as a swimming coach, perform at a show in South Korea, but everything changed during a trip to Yalta, where she first watched the competitions of her future colleagues with her own eyes.

“I watched the competition, and I liked it so much, butterflies in my stomach.

I'm on fire!

It caught fire, but inside there was an unpleasant feeling, a sediment - everything is so cool, but I stand on the sidelines, look and do not participate ... I think I decided to return to the sport, because it was necessary to calm down one cockroach.

Plus, I'm interested in trying something new... I was looking for adventure when I wasn't jumping anymore.

Either I jump with a parachute, then I go snowboarding for speed.

So now you can catch adrenaline professionally.

In addition, I like the very atmosphere among high divers, ”Salyamova admitted to Match TV.

However, she did not stop jumping from a 20-meter tower.

In 2022, Salyamova became the first Russian woman to receive a wild card for the World Series of Cliff Diving - jumping into the water from rocks 26-28 meters high.

In August, Salyamova took part in a tournament in Bosnian Mostar, where she took 12th place.
